And So It Begins

In 1 Peter 4:10, Peter writes "God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another." God has given me the gift of writing. Since I was a small child, I have been writing anything from poems to short stories. I could always be found with a notebook and a pen. Oh, the joy when I got my first computer! The keys clacked as fast as I could tap them! Writing is a release. Writing is joy.

As I have gotten older, life, as if often does, has gotten crazy and hectic. My writing took a backseat a long time ago. Lately, God has been whispering to me that I need to get back to it. OK. It hasn't been just lately. He's been telling me for a long time now. I've put it off and put it off, even as ideas for stories, letters and this very blog have been swirling in my mind.

About a week ago, I started reading 1 Peter. The above verse hit me like a brick. I have been longing to be a better servant. I have been eager to share His love and to spread His message. To say I didn't know how I was supposed to do it seems silly now. Because it's right there. We are to use our gifts to serve each other.

Which is how I got here. Talking to you. Through my words, that I pray are pleasing to Him. I may not always be eloquent. The subjects may vary. I may get off on tangents. But always know that my words are from my heart. And my heart belongs to Him.
